Finally in paid work after 13 years!

G'day. Well I've taken over as the administrator of Brackets and Jam. It's the first regular paid work I've done since April 1992. Yay!! It's only part time, but at least it's a start.

I've had other indications I am still getting better from the CFS but it's still painfully slow. I was mucking around with a bit of computer programming in Nov. & Dec., which is the first time I've successfully gotten my head around it since 1986. In the end although I could get back into it there are too many other things I really want to do with my time & money to do so.

Christmas was great, I got to celebrate with Bill & Judy & their family and it was a mellow day with heaps of great food.

New Years Eve was also great, with dinner at Jaqi & Ev's along with Alain & Carol, Anna & Bernd, Leo, & Kim, along with 2 little people. We saw the fireworks from their back veranda & across the road at Heffron Park with an occasional glimpse at the TV to see them close up & to see the Harbour Bridge. Although we were a long way off & they were small it was possible to see several places fireworks at once. In one spot you could see 4 sites but that wasn't where I was standing.

Check out the Sydney Festival site for what's happening around Sydney as part of the Sydney Festival. I'm planning on being at Festival events nearly every day in January. Between them and the free outdoor movies at Olympic Park, I'll actually be at more than one event per day (assuming I actually make it to everything I want to see).

January will be a month of seeing movies as well. I really want to see Bridgette Jone's II on the 11th in the Botanic Gardens outdoors on the big screen (preferably with a few friends), as well as everything playing outdoors on the big screen at Olympic Park from the 16th to the 22nd. However the 16th is also the night of a film at the Opera House about Francis Bacon & William S Burroughs I would like to see, I might go and see The Sapphires with mum on the 19th at the Belvoir St Theatre, I might check out the opera of the Eternity Man with mum on the 20th, & there is the Bacardi Festival at Darling Harbour & several of my friends are bound to want to go to that. Also I won 2 season passes to A Very Long Engagement.

Blessings,
Joe :-)
